Today I am introducing a new feature post. Each month I will provide a graphic highlighting the species to look for around Anguilla’s salt ponds.
I hope this will be a resource for anyone in this group who prefers to birdwatch on their own while visiting Anguilla or can’t make one of my Wild Side Walks.
As the annual Fall Migration ramps up the September graphic gives you five species to look for across Anguilla. It is one of the most difficult times of the year for bird identification. This is especially true for shorebirds with adults molting out of their breeding plumage and juveniles in the mix.
Further, I include a shorebird guide that Birds Caribbean provided. Although it focuses on Caribbean Birds you see most of them in North America.
I hope these tools help you in the field as you navigate this complex time of year.
Happy Fall Birding!
Thank you Jackie 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Enjoy your fall!!
What a great idea... a monthly Anguilla Wildlife Almanac. Thank you!
