Anguilla has its share of sunrises and sunsets, but Forest Bay outdid itself for our first Wild Side Walk of 2024. Whatever adjective you want to place on this moment, the photograph does not do it justice.
This beauty was accompanied by calm seas, a light breeze, and a Great Blue Heron right out of the gate.
There were plenty of ducks and three Belted Kingfishers who were having none of the paparazzi!
During this walk, we recorded 22 species, including water, land, and seabirds.
Thanks to a lengthy rainy season, the fauna was dense, green, and full of life!
The morning wouldn’t have been complete without a peek at Anguilla’s National Bird - the Zenaida Dove.
A big shout-out to our participants. Thanks for getting up early to enjoy the birds and take a Walk on the Wild Side!
Wild Side Walks are for everyone who loves nature. You don’t have to be an experienced birder to join. Photographers will find something to snap, and serious birders might add to their life list.
I am always willing to share my eBird list with participants, and binoculars are available for those who don’t have them.
Whether you enjoy the early sunrise, the birds, or the peace of nature, I hope you will join me for the next FREE Wild Side Walk!
