Nest Building Day 1 to 3
My resident Antillean Crested Hummingbird is taking spring seriously and has begun the 2025 nesting season.
In 2023, I documented her nest from egg-laying to fledging her chicks.
I found her building a nest in a Curry Leaf plant on Sunday. The site is sheltered from the rain. She has been battling the wind all week. It is not the best location for photography. Please bear with me as I give her the space to be comfortable.
In the video below, I share a few special moments of her first three days of nest building.
