As we officially transition to Fall, I thought it was a great opportunity to share some of the special moments I viewed in nature on Anguilla this past week.
The highlight was the partial lunar eclipse on September 17th. Nasa Science gave this brief overview of the event.
“The Moon will start entering the Earth's partial shadow at 8:41 PM EDT. The slight dimming of the Moon will be difficult to notice until the top edge of the Moon starts entering the full shadow at 10:13 PM. The peak of the eclipse will be at 10:44 PM with only the top 8 percent of the Moon in full shadow. The Moon will finish exiting the full shadow at 11:16 PM and the partial shadow on Wednesday morning at 12:47 AM.”
Clear skies allowed me to capture the Supermoon in all its glory and the peak with a “bite” out of the top.
March 13-14 2025 will bring a Total Lunar Eclipse to Anguilla. So if you are visiting then, make sure to mark your calendars.
With a busy month ahead in October, I thought I would share a few special photographs I captured around the island recently.
We have had some stunning rainbows.
Birds doing bird things.
Clear views of our neighboring islands including St. Barth’s.
What views are you snapping in nature? Please share them with the group in the comments below.
October will be a busy month with Global Big Day and the ability to view Comet C/2023 A3.
Stay tuned as I walk on the wild side!
Always look forward what you have to share. Missed the partial eclipse but happy you captures it beautifully. You never disappoint. Thank you!
