So beautiful! Is rotating on the nest part of the process or was she just fidgeting? Does she get any sleep??

So the the video clip in the post is of her during the nest building phase prior to laying her eggs. When she rotates she is tamping down the nest fibers to make it comfortable and working on threading the outside fibers to make it tight. The nest is designed to expand with the chicks as they grow. You will see this as we go through process of hatching and chick growth. It is a process. Once the eggs are laid, where we are now, she will take cat naps periodically while sitting on the eggs. I expect night time she sleeps with 1 eye open like most human parents do. Remember that the female does this all on her own. Male hummingbirds are not involved once copulation occurs. They are out of the picture. I have seen Itty Bit take little cat naps on. Nearby tree during the day fro time to time.
