This is true. I will say we have done eradication programs on our offshore cays. I was the project manager for the Dog Island Project from 2011 to 12. It involved the removal of Black Rats on that island. Two other offshore cays have been completed since. All are Important Bird Areas due to seabird populations with local, regional, and in some cases, global, significance.
Doing this work on the main island is an entirely different cup of tea. I will be interested to see how it moves forward. Fingers crossed.
I don't know why but it's so much fun when you stumble upon a nest. Thank you for sharing these videos!
Thank you, Janice! One of my favorite times of the year.
So happy to receive your bird reports, photos and videos from our favorite Anguilla! Thank YOU Jackie
Thank you, Marie. I am so happy you enjoy them.
Those Noddys are SO gorgeous. Sorry to hear about the cats. Are there any efforts to control them?
They are gorgeous. At this point, nothing is in place to control them. Feral cats are a problem islandwide.
Very sad. Tough enough out there for a bird w/o the cats, rats, etc.

Crossing my fingers with you. Invasives on islands... extra bad :(
So grateful to you and others doing this work
Thank you.
